My Fifth Fondant Cake

Fashionista Cake(Make up kit,Hand bag and Shoe):-






This is one of the most wanted to try cake for me.And as usual looking for the occasion to give it a try,my friend's birthday was there and i decided to delight her with this cake.So i baked and decorated this makeup kit cake for my beautiful friend,this turned out pretty much good for the first trial.I have made Nail paint bottles out of fondant,Mac eye shadow and lipstick. The kit bag is a chocolate cake covered in fondant and the matching shoe is made out of fondant too.So here i am sharing some of the pics.

The cake,shoe nail paint bottle is ready,but still the eye shadow and lipstick needs to be on the spot.


Taddaa..,the cake is ready for the birthday girl to cut. Yeehhu i made it again. Feeling Happy:)

Second time i have made this CHANEL hand bag for my kids class teacher's birth day.The class representative asked about making the cake and i then i decided to make this beautiful gift for the beautiful lady.  She was very happy after seeing the cake. She liked it so much that she didn't cut the cake and took it home to show to all her family members. The best thing she said to me is that "Nobody has given me such a beautiful cake in my life before!" and that was so flattering ,i was more happier than her, i guess!...:) so its true if you make some one happy you will be happy. All other parents who were present there, named it as a Masterpiece.So here i am presenting the beautiful Chanel Handbag cake..

Shengdanyache ladu/Peanut Ladoo

Shengdanyache Ladu/Peanut ladoo:-
Preparation Time:- 15 minutes
Serves:- 15 to 18 ladoos


This dish is also a very good dietary intake in winter as a breakfast for kids.These ladoos contains Jaggery and Peanuts so it is good source of Iron,and helps to increase Hemoglobin,great medicine in Hemoglobin deficiency. These ladoos can be eaten in fast.And you can make the sweet peanut paratha too from this ladoo mixture.It is a very quick and healthy break fast for kids best eaten in cold winter mornings.These laddos are also eaten in fasting days as it gives energy to stay empty stomach for longer.It has one week shelf life.If stored in refrigerator,then can last more than a week.But remove from fridge 30 minutes early before serving.So here is the simple recipe.
Ingredients:-
1)Roasted peanut 1 and 1/2 cup Coarsely ground.
2)Jaggery or Gudh powder or grated 1 cup (OR to taste)
3)Roasted poppy seeds powder 1 tablespoon
4)Green Cardamoms crushed 3 to 4 numbers
5)Grated Nutmeg 1/4 teaspoon
6)Clarified butter or Pure ghee 1 tablespoon
7)Full cream milk 1 tablespoon
Directions:-
1)Roast the peanuts and grind coarsely. Take 1 and 1/2 cup coarsely ground peanuts
2)In a large mixing bowl mix together all the dry ingredients.
3)Sprinkle in clarified butter,mix well
4)Sprinkle milk a little at a time. Mix well(Refer the pictures)
5)Apply 1 to 2 drops of ghee in your hands and roll small ladoos and serve in the morning.
Or eat whenever you like.

Badam Halwa/Almond Pudding

Badam Halwa/Almond Pudding:-
Preparation Time:- 20 minutes
Cooking Time:-40 Minutes
Serves:-4                                                             

Winter is the time for comfort,for good food and warmth.And if the holidays are there then this is the time,for sure, to make some yummy delights for the kiddos.So i prepared my son's favorite Badam Halwa or Almond pudding. As we all know almonds are rich in dietary fiber,vitamins and minerals.It is a complete source of energy as well as nutrients.Almonds are rich in mono saturated fatty acids which are helpful in increasing good cholesterol and decreasing bad cholesterol. Almonds are rich source of vitamin E.So what is the best winter diet for busy kids other than almond halwa or pudding. So here is the recipe.
Ingredients:-
1)Almonds soaked overnight 1 and 1/4 cups
2)Clarified butter or pure ghee 4 to 5 table spoons
3)Full cream Milk 1 and 1/4 cups
4)Condensed milk 4 table spoons
5)Nutmeg grated a pinch(Optional)
6)Saffron 3 to 4 strands(Optional)
7)Sugar 2 table spoons
Directions:-
1)Drain the water from the soaked almonds,remove the skin.Instead of soaking the almonds overnight.You can blanch them in the hot water and remove the skin.
2)Save 12 to 15 almonds with the skin.
3)Mix blanched almonds and the unpeeled almonds.Keep it in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
(Putting the almonds in the refrigerator is optional).
4)Coarsely grind the blanched and unpeeled almonds.
5)Heat 2 table spoons of ghee or clarified butter first in a deep pan,add in the coarsely ground almonds paste.Fry the almonds paste for 2 to 3 minutes and keep adding little bit of the remaining ghee in intervals.
6)Fry the almond paste on medium to low heat ,stirring frequently so that it wont stick to the pan and burn.
7)Keep frying the almonds till the color changes to golden brown,it will take approximately 35 to 40 minutes.
(Don't leave unattended as it may burn and ruin the dish)
8)When the almond color changes to golden brown,turn off the heat.
9)Mix condensed milk into the Full cream milk.
10)Turn on the heat on low flame,slowly pour in the milk and condensed milk mixture.Mix well.
(Using condensed milk is again optional,instead you can reduce the 4 cups milk to the 1 and 1/2 cups and then you can add it into the roasted almond paste or simply u can use only full cream milk too,i like it my way.)
11)Cook this for 4 to 5 minutes or until it reaches to the thick consistency.
12)In between add in sugar,mix well.Add in saffron strands mix well.(Refer the pictures)
13)When it reaches to the almost done consistency,then add in the grated nutmeg.Mix well. Serve warm.

BACHELOR SPECIAL BURITTOS

MINI-BURRITOS:- 
Serves:- 5 
Making Time:-20 minutes

 Burritos is a type of hand held take out Mexican food. This one is really very easy to make and very feeling. I have used Old El Passo's products to make this as i am posting this specially for bachelors and working women. If you don't want to spend the money on ready made Old El Passo products and you don't want to use the tin products,then you can make these products at home using Rajma. I Will post the Home made recipe soon.This recipe is specially for my dear friends and followers who have requested to post it on my blog. So here is the recipe.
Ingredients:-
1)Mini Tortillas 1 pack
2)Re- fried beans paste 3 table spoons (I used Old Elpasso brand)
3)Mexe-Beans 2 to 3 table spoons (For filling  and rest for topping)
4)Cooked Rice 1 cup
5)Chopped lettuce 1 cup
6)Chopped Capsicum 1 cup
7)Avocado 1 number
8)Grated Mozzarella Cheese 1 cup
9)Nachos 1 cup
10)Salsa Sauce 1 bottle(I used Old elpasso salsa)
11)Sour cream 1 pack
Directions:-
1)Open the re-fried bean can and mexe-bean can,heat the contents in a pan or microwave in a microwave safe bowl separately.
2)Mix the hot cooked rice, the 3 tablespoons of hot re-fried beans paste and 2 to 3 tablespoons of Mexe-beans thoroughly.
3)Warm the tortillas according to packet instructions.
4)Keep all the ingredients handy.
5)Place the tortillas in a microwave safe dish,spread the rice and re-fried-beans mixture
8)Add in mexe-beans,cheese,1 tea spoon salsa,few capsicum slices.
9)Roll the tortilla gently.Top with the grated cheese and microwave for 30-40 seconds or till the cheese melts.(Refer the pictures)
10)Remove from the microwave and top with nachos,salsa,avocado,lettuce and sour cream(optional)
11)Serve Immediately.And enjoy the restaurant test of Mexican food right in your home comfort.
